Academic Achievement Scholarships for New Doctoral and Master of Fine Arts Students

In recognition of their outstanding academic accomplishments, the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies will award a competitive, one-year $1,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year to each qualifying new student who begins his or her study in a doctoral program at the University of North Texas during the fall term. To qualify for these awards, a student must be accepted unconditionally or conditionally by a UNT doctoral or MFA degree program to begin in the Fall, 2009.

Because these scholarships are competitive, international students and non-resident students who receive them will be entitled to pay Texas resident tuition for the term of their scholarships.

Students who receive the Academic Achievement Scholarships must enroll and complete a minimum total of 15 semester hours of 5000 or 6000 level courses (applicable to the degrees the students seek). A minimum of six of the 15 hours must be taken in the initial semester of the award.

Students do not have to apply for the Academic Achievement Scholarship. Once a student is admitted to a program, the Graduate School determines if the student is eligible for the scholarship. If a student is eligible for the scholarship, an award letter will automatically be mailed out.
